Why We Don't Need to be Shocked to Get Spiritual

How close to the world’s ideas and methods do we need to get to reach not-yet-Christ-followers?  That seems to be the ever reaching question within the evangelistic efforts of church life these days.  I’m just gonna say it:  Christ is still enough.  His approach was the Master at work and should be what we attempt to mimic.  He involved Himself in the affairs of humanity, developed relationships with seekers and never shunned away from an opportunity to mingle where His influence could infiltrate.  Even though there were accusations by the “religious”, there was never confusion about the purity of his approach.  He never had even a hint of attachment to the things of this life.  He was different in every sense of the word…and, for the glory of His Father.
So, why do we feel it is necessary to change the formula?  This world has NOTHING for the Christ-follower!  The teaching of Scripture is to deliberately reject the evil influences of this life in order to fully embrace the life that only comes from above.  We frankly don’t need to be “shocked” with some explicit sex talk or abrupt language to draw the sinner.  Love and truth are still the answers.  And, YES, Christ is still ENOUGH!
