Counting My Blessings

Friday, March 14th, 2008, won't be a day that I will be quick to forget. You know, we all have those moments where we are made to look at life a little clearer. Well, today was one of those moments for me. I had just dropped Ethan, my kindergartner, off at school and I was headed to my church office. Everything seemed to be a routine Friday until I came to the intersection of Covell and Portland. The stop sign was there as usual, and my "auto pilot" was on...meaning, I've taken this route more than once. So, I stopped, and then in pulling out from the stop sign, I heard one of the loudest sounds I can recollect...the sound of an 18-wheeler - a semi - slamming on his horn...and then crash, one impact...crash again, another. The driver of the semi had run this stop sign going around 55 mph. Without going into too many details, my car was totaled and I walked away unscathed. I just received a call from the photographer of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol who wanted to make sure I knew how "fortunate" I am to have "walked away" from such a vehicle collision of such proportions. For those who have prayed for me today, words cannot express my gratitude. And, for you who pray for me on a regular basis...wow...it makes a difference. The journey continues...for God's glory alone!
(It sure was good to see my wife, Michelle, and kids, Ethan and Emma, after the incident...and our new dog, Sadie. I'll share more about her later.)

Wow,thank God for insurance, huh? not just the insurance we have on our vehicles, but the insurance we have when we are walking in His mighty purpose and under His mighty protection. No insurance company "on earth" can match God's protection plan and His "network" of angels. Not to mention the heavenly "grace " period ! We are praising Him with you for your well-being.

Thank you for your kind words. I am still symptom free...and slowly coming to the realization of how mighty of a miracle this is. Yes..praise be to the Father for His "insurance" policy.
