Making assumptions like growth happens because we want to be a better person can prove to be very disappointing. Sure, we need to want to grow, but a desire is not enough. Anything that represents growth can be found in the environment conducive for it - pertinent soil, watering, sunlight... And, sometimes obstacles need to be moved and replanting is required. In other words, it takes a level of deliberateness for growth to come about.
Nothing of substance happens by shallow effort.
The Apostle Paul said that he even "beat his body" to make it his
slave so that after he had preached to others, he wouldn't be
"disqualified for the prize." Really, it's all about positioning
yourself for growth, cooperating with the God who desires growth and provides the grace for it to
occur inside of you. So, what are you doing today that will reinforce
such growth to actually happen in your life? Someone said that success
is hidden in our daily routine. There's something profound about what
we are found to do regularly to better ourselves. With all of the
resources and strategies made available to us in this culture, we can
move forward on a plan of growth quickly. It starts with defeating the
aforementioned assumption. Rather, growth happens because we choose to
live our life on purpose!
What can you begin today that you can do on a regular basis to ensure a stable posture of growth?
