A Big Leadership Mistake

Why wouldn't you want to learn?  What would keep you from an opportunity to grow?  Anything that keeps leaders from bettering themselves is not a big enough obstacle.  When leaders stop learning, they stop leading.  And, though we need to be selective in growth venues, the spirit of learning should be ever present.  It is still true that attitude impacts altitude.  We will only go as high as our attitude will sustain.  Any meeting I'm in, it is a personal mission of mine to learn something, and furthermore, to act as if I'm engaged.  Leaders lead even when they aren't trying.  Others are taking notice of our attention posture.  And, because leadership, in many cases, is better caught than taught, our demeanor is always critical.  When we act as if we already know that we demonstrate an unreachableness. One of the biggest enemies to leadership development is knowledge arrival!  Be teachable...in any environment.  If we are teachable, we are reachable.  Take time today to learn something new and forgo any mistake related to an inflated ego by remaining teachable!
