What if the local church loved each other to the point that difference, weakness or failure never fractured the bridge? What if the local church loved each other so much that jealousy entered but never stayed as a welcomed friend? What if the local church loved each other to the extent that praise was given not to be received, gifts were fanned into activity and the opportunity to serve was considered a privilege, not just an obligation? What if the local church loved each other in the expression that accountability was encouraged and truth-telling was priority in the proper context? What if she loved in uncommon comfort, relentless restoration, selfless resourcing, authentic relating, and unified outreach? What if the under shepherd passionately and patiently led by love, because of love, and for the cause of love? What if YOU loved the Church so much that you couldn’t wait to be with her again?
And the Lord of the Church said, “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples” (John 13:34-35).
So, as part of Christ’s Body, how can you actively show your love to another member today?
