Proverbs 16:24 says, "Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body." The Hebrews, back in the OT days, considered honey to be the sweetest and healthiest of natural flavors in the world. Our words are meant to be a means of sweetness and healing. That’s how powerful words can be – benefiting or bruising, winsome or wounding. The words we speak can give wings or imprison. So, if this is the impact of phrases or conversations with others, what do we need to consider? Check out my acrostic to WORDS:
W - Wish the best on others.
O - Own the responsibility of what you say.
R - Review the content of your conversations.
D - Develop a habit of being positive and encouraging.
S - Surrender your entire vocabulary to Christ daily.
So, what words can you offer to set someone free today? Don’t be passive about it. Stir victory with your vocabulary!
