Godly Marriages Matter
Ok...I have over thirty books in my personal library dealing exclusively with marriage. I've been to seminars, read articles and listened to cd's on the subject. You'd think with all of the resources out there that marriage shouldn't be so challenging, and with all the information afforded to me, I should have a perfect one. Well, I don't and haven't met one yet (some that have come close, though). So, maybe with the struggles that already come naturally to the union between a man and woman and with the societal views that challenge that very definition, it would be best said that it's not the perfection of marriage that should get the attention, but rather the progress. I believe that's what God had in mind. And, the Church should be the very place where such progress is encouraged. It is most evident that a nation is only as strong as its churches...and a church is only as strong as her families. This weekend, Michelle and I will be hosting a marriage retreat for our church at the Tulsa Marriott. We are so looking forward to spending some much needed time together along with the friendships and connections of other couples. Our theme for the weekend: Godly Marriages Matter. It will be a time well spent!
