A Week for Blogs on Missions
This week I will be blogging about my "two cents" on world missions. Lakeside Assembly, the church where I am lead pastor, will be celebrating this week into next Sunday what we call our Fall Missions Explosion. We have a Mission Explosion in the Spring as well. I have been exposed to missions and missionaries most of my life. My dad has been in occupational ministry since before I was born. I remember my dad going on missions trips when I was in grade school, coming back with wild stories...that I still hear from time to time. And, then, those "weird" people called missionaries. Actually, many of them stayed in our home and I thought they were pretty cool. As a matter of fact, I still have a small carved elephant from a missionary the Africans called "Bwana Tempo" which means "Lord Elephant." His real name was Morris Plotts. At any rate, he is a legend. And, he along with many other missionaries have made a major impact on my life. Today, I am more passionate about global evangelism than ever before. I'll share why in the next blog.
