The Weirdness of our Witness
This Sunday, August 24th at Lakeside, we will continue the teaching thought on the weirdness of our witness. It's been quite a while since I've been so stirred by a passage of Scripture. Luke 10 talks about a group of seventy-two believers that Christ sent out ahead of His personal ministry to do some pretty weird stuff. Verse 17 says that they returned after their assignment with excitement saying, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." These were not the chosen twelve but rather the wider committed folks that were chosen to go out because of their hearts before the Lord. This is not just a gospel account. It flows into the book of Acts among the early Church. So, here's the question: How does the book of Acts fit into 21st Century American culture? I personally think this is a worthy question...and that's why we are attempting to answer it with the help of the Holy Spirit. I invite you to come out this Sunday morning for our 10:30 worship gathering and enter this mental conversation. We will talk about how reason and left-brain thinking works in the life of faith. Also, we will cover how to react among spiritual abuses, etc. I look forward to exploring this supernatural realm with you.
