The "Q" Factor, part two

The 2008 summer Olympics begin today in Beijing with the opening ceremony. It's always a most breathtaking scene to experience. But the opening exercises are not what the Olympics are all about. It's about personal will and skill...a strategy for quality improvement made visible before an entire world. I am looking forward to the sheer inspiration that will come from watching Michael Phelps attempt to make water sport history. I will be on the edge of my seat as I watch Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Coach Mike ("K") Krzyzewski assist the Americans in the attempt for redemption after failing to win a major basketball competition in eight years. Needless to say, it's going to be awesome...because it's all about observing the "Q" factor in play. Someone sent me this quote by email about ten years ago. It has stuck with me. "Excellence can be obtained if you...care more than others think is wise...risk more than others think is safe...dream more than others think is practical...expect more than others think is possible." GO TEAM!
