The Price of Greatness

I read a quote today that was challenging to say the least. Winston Churchill was said to have made this statement: "The price of greatness is responsibility." That goes for so many areas of our life... Suffice to say, if we want something great to happen be it in our career, at home, in relationships, etc., we have to personally work it and not just wish for it. Michelle and I spent the day yesterday selecting, purchasing and planting shrubs and flowers for our front yard. I must admit...I'm feeling it big time today. When I woke up this morning, I felt like I'd been hit by a mac truck. But after I was able to shake it off with the influence of a morning shower and a fresh cup of coffee, I stepped outside to see the harvest of our labor (dressed for the occasion, of course). I came to realize that the improved curb-appeal was worth all the effort... Someone said that if it's meant to be, it's up to me. To a great degree, this is true. There's more to the spiritual life than that, but the success we want in business, relationships and/or home life has a lot to do with what we consider to be our responsibility. There's more to do today, so gotta go for now.
