Mother's Day Tribute - My Sweetheart

A Spanish Proverb says, "An ounce of mother is worth a ton of priest." What can I say... I am aware of my role as priest of the home, but without the faithfulness of the motherhood instinct in my wife, Michelle, my role is lessened in impact. She, along with all mothers, is to be honored for this fact. It is amazing the influence she wields among our two children - a 6 year old and a soon to be 5 year old. But it is the constant time of genuine care and concern that gives her the upper hand, and so, I guess I'm cool with that :) She does so much, and when I stop long enough to realize that (I know, I've got to do this more often), I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift of God in her for me and my children. Her constant attention to details has gotten me off the hook many times, along with the moments I've needed/received her forgiveness in not following through with my responsibilities. Ethan and Emma are great kids with the flaws of young life. But when it comes to the "great" part, the honor goes to the vessel that God uses everyday - their mother. The tenderness of our children is her constant testimony. Sweetheart, you are the love of my life and the labor of love you give for our home as mother and spouse will continue in rich dividends for generations to come. Happy Mother's Day!
