Too Busy to Come Down

Do you have some naysayers in your life?  You’re not alone.  Anyone that’s tried to do something worthwhile has had individuals ready to share the negative.  As a matter of fact, if there isn’t anyone to criticize what you’re doing, you might want to check the validity of your project.
The story of Nehemiah confirms this perspective: When critics came to distract him from the work of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, he responded resolutely.  Nehemiah 6:3-4 records his words - …so I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?” Four times they sent me the same message, and each time I gave them the same answer.
Those who want to point out only what’s wrong with your idea are essentially small thinkers.  That kind of mentality keeps you low.  You have to rise above it.  And, that won’t take much effort.  Just climb up to where your thinking is taking you…to where the size of the dream resides…and stay there! Those with constructive criticism will climb the ladder.  You will know their heart by the distance they are willing to go with you.  Small thinking critics stay low.  Keep thinking big!  The larger the idea, the concept or dream, the further you will climb.  And, before long, it will take you more time to come down and hear the criticism than you have available.  You will be too busy to come down.
