THE MAVS... Need I say more?!? OK, I am a Dallas Mavericks fan and have been for many years...even when they stunk. But this veteran franchise has done more than just raise the pride-level of their fan club this year; they've taught all that will learn a valuable lesson: superstars don't necessarily steal every show. And, frankly, the super stardom mentality can always be trumped by a lose. There was a time when big time, flashy lawyers, entertainers, sports-figures and preachers could over

rank the less popular and more ordinary type. But these days even the trendy can soon fall in the shadow of the more traditional, old-school approach. The "older guys" have instructed us again. Kidd, Terry, Nowitzki and the other steady men that surround them showed that the pass and screens of teamwork really do pay off. And, though Dirk showed in more than one game that he was not invincible, his teammates made up for it in the end. In his own words (from Tuesday's Dallas Morning News):
"I just think this is a win of team basketball. This is a win for playing as a team on both ends of the floor, for sharing the ball, and we've been doing that all season long."This teaches me the following:
1. It does matter who I allow and who I position around me in life.
2. Sharing a task with the right people can bring greater results than just trying to do something on my own.
3. Continuing to use a team approach, even when it seems easier to do it myself, pays off in the end for more than just me with longer lasting rewards.
How can these lessons and more on teamwork apply to your life and line of work? Way to go, MAVS...and, way to go any TEAM that really is one!!!
