The Leadership Environment

Real leaders are lovers of people - plain and simple! If a "leader" doesn't love people in general and especially those that follow him or her, they really aren't leading; rather, they are demanding and commanding, with a single motive to get what they want. Leadership involves a genuine care for the welfare of others. It's a people business, and business is booming!!! So, here's a few probing questions for all the leaders out there:
What do people feel when they are around you?
How is the room of people affected when you walk in?
Are people glad to see you come, glad to see you go or indifferent to your presence?
Leaders are meant to be thermostats! They set the temperature for sincere engagement and encouragement. They point people to their potential and not just their present performance. They make learning a fun and necessary part of their relationships...which triggers a higher level of health in the organization. And, when the environment is healthy, people are energized! They grow and thrive with the possibility of providing greater creativity and productivity! YES, that's the business of leadership!!!
