Working the Simple Formula (Keeping it Simple in Sales, Leadership and Ministry) Part Four

Purpose, People Skills, PASSION

Are you excited about what you do, and does it show?

I know...there are days that the roles and responsibilities can be overwhelming while the attitudes and reactions of others, disheartening. But it's our driving love for what we do and internal enthusiasm to go to the next level with it that cracks the proverbial code of higher effectiveness. If we are indifferent and just "okay" with what is happening at present around us, the part we play becomes worse than irrelevant - it stands as an awful contagion. On the flip side, when we operate with an attitude of going after it, the environment of awareness rises and thus the productivity. Passion speaks! It yells, Yes we can and It can be done. The morale of any organization must be addressed long before the momentum can be a concern. When individuals and the group senses hope, sustainable activity for the good finds a greater opportunity.
Passion is married to excellence. When we are energetic about our calling and responsibilities, we will be challenged to be and do the best we can. We will examine closely our work, then the work of the team. Here's the probing question: Am I giving all I can to what I'm called to do at this point in my life?

To keep passion alive and improve our productivity, here are some suggestions:
(1) Schedule ways to improve weekly. (follow blogs, read books, attend a conference)
(2) Find someone who is doing better at what you are doing and learn from them. (a distant or local mentor)
(3) Focus on giving your best in the simple things. (sharper emails, clearer communication, prepared feedback)
(4) Connect with a team of learners. (join a team, form a team)
(5) Look for progress daily. (work for easy wins, praise the good that others do)

Og Mandino, author of The Greatest Salesman in the World, wrote,
“Every memorable act in the history of the world is a triumph of enthusiasm. Nothing great was ever achieved without it because it gives any challenge or any occupation, no matter how frightening or difficult, a new meaning. Without enthusiasm you are doomed to a life of mediocrity, but with it you can accomplish miracles.” Passion is that overlooked ingredient that takes our efforts over the top. So, go ahead - GET PUMPED UP!!!

Purpose, People Skills, Passion! Don't miss the simple formula. Work it today!
